RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:TakeoverWe all buy for our own reasons. And yes it's always nice to get a 30% increase in one day!
However if all the promising divvy players get bought out by American entities it makes it difficult to bild a good divvy portfolio! Honestly all my good solid high paying divvy plays except Jazz have been sold out over the last couple years ( and yes I've made some nice capital gains).
With HLP the premium is only ~3 years worth of dividends and loss of potential gains! So when I take into account taxes it boils down to about two years worth of dives, net.
I put a lot of work into researching high yield divvy payers before I put my cash down so yes it's nice to see my research validated, but again I'm after the divvy and a modest capital gain each year.

Im happy! just not as happy had HLP had played out as expected over the next 10 years :)
