Production cost at $600

Production cost at $600
We were told a lot time this year and last year the all the  costs for producing an ounce of gold would be $600 and there would be a net profit of $600 before taxes or a little more depending of the price of gold.  Has anybody heard the same story?  I am not sure that this will be the case. Just to watch the price of the stock, it seems that something is going wrong with this assumption. If this would be true, we should see a much higher price right now.  But I suspect that  some big investors are unloading their position right now.  I would not like to see  a consolidation right now, but I suspect that this will eventually become a reality in a not too distant future in order to attract a new kind of investors who would be interested in a 0.40 stock price but are not in a 0.05 or 0.06 stock price.
