RE:Area B
RE:Area BChildiak hosts many kimberlies so it was once a source of extreme volcanic activity (like Hawaii or Iceland is today). The whole claim is lousy with kimberlites and thus kimberlite indicating minerals. The REAL question is how many of these have big, clear diamonds in sufficient quantities to make mining profitable.
CH6 (and to a lesser extent CH1) represent the prize - Rich pipes. These ancient volcanos erupted magna through a diamond layer (deep underground) with sufficient speed and pressure bring these diamonds to the surface. The key to successful additional exploration is to identify volcanos from the same time period with a similar eruption pattern. This work is made easier after you find one good one and base your models on it.
Area B may or may not have kimberlites from the same geologic period as CH6. Perhaps there was another geologic period that created economic kimberlites and this area will have good – but different – kimberlites of economic potential.
We shall see that the future holds for this area and I am optimistic – BUT even if they don’t find anything economic in this new area that’s cool. The best place to look for gold is at a gold mine – and the best place to look for economic diamonds is beside an economic pipe. All that to say I reckon the focus area beside CH6 is still the best area in which to find economic pipes – until/if they find another focus area.
I would be VERY happy to see an LARGE (4 hectare) pipe with something like .5carets per tonne. “Lower” grade, but higher ore quantity of ore keeps the mill full. That’s what this project needs right now – a mill filling pipe.
