Your handle here is truly appropriate - a stupid bone headed fish. The Merensky reef was discovered by tracing from panning - but it was placer platinum - not gold. The Merensky reef contains the worlds largest resource/reserve of PGE's - not gold. Does south Africa have gold? Yes lots, but in a different mineral district to the Merensky reef. Show us the "documented smatterings" you refer to. What was your previous identity here? Your writing style is familiar.
