RE:RE:MIner, I found this analysis very interesting.The drop to 6000 was due to a drop at Las Maracas. That's a mature field and is going to decline over time. Meanwhile they added another well subsequent to the end of the quartert at LM which added 800, so LM production is probably about back to where it was. The imminent demise of LM has been predicted for quite awhile and the field continues to over-perform and generate huge amounts of cash. Water injection facilities being setup there show that they will take additional steps to keep the oil flowing there as the field matures more.
The story is that LM is still a cash cow and that production is ramping up rapidly elsewhere so that they are becoming less dependent on that one field.
