Fission Uranium (TSX: V.FCU, Stock Forum) upped the prospectivity at its Patterson Lake South property located in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin when the company announced results today from seven new angled drill holes from its summer 2014 drill program.

According to the news release, all seven holes came back with wide mineralization, five of which hit intervals of greater than 10,000 cps radioactivity.

Drilling results from PLS14-264 (line 1125E) demonstrated the continuity between the shallow depth, high-grade R780E to the west and the R1125E zone to the east. As a result, the R780E zone has a current strike length of 930 metres (L225E to 1155E), an increase from 855 metres (L225E to 1080E).

Highlights from the results included 103.0 metres total composite mineralization including 10.45 metres total composite mineralization greater than 10,000 cps radioactivity at PLS14-271 (line 510E) and 49.5 metres total composite mineralization including 1.2 metres total composite mineralization greater than 10,000 cps radioactivity at PLS14-270 (line 270E).

Company President, COO and Chief Geologist, Ross McElroy, commented, “Today's results have merged yet another eastern mineralized zone (R1155E) with the rapidly expanding R780E zone. We are also seeing the westward expansion of the R780E's extensive high-grade area. The summer program is continuing to drive PLS forward at a tremendous pace.”

Fission was in the news recently when the company announced more off-scale results at PLS a little over a week ago.

Shares edged up 1.69% on the news to $1.20 per share.

Currently there are 353.1m outstanding shares with a market cap of $423.7 million.
