It appears Instinet has crossed over to someone at RBC roughly 3 million shares. This could be a control position negotiated ahead of a RTO an then a vended in deal. What deal and when is anyones guess. The financial deal they are supposedly mulling over could be much father advanced and this news was brought on by the exchange asking about the large volume moves going on. Companies have to disclose events and I suspect they have a plan about to start.
