John is a great "hands on" geologist - we have spent a lot of time at the subsurface labs on Dewdeney looking at cores - me as a sideline to support specific drilling projects for my clients - John as his main line of consulting work for a wide variety of O & G Co. clients. He has also done some wonderful regional studies on the the Three Forks or Torquay (Sanish) formation just below the Bakken - which is now seeing some excitement as Crescent Point is developing an emerging Sanish play on the Border south of Oungre and near Flat Lake. (I was involved with a big Three Forks drilling project about 10 miles further east near Tableland for another company some 4-5 years ago). Plus he has the benefit of having done some significant well site geological work - so he knows what happens with the geology while drilling sideways through these things. He is a heck of guy - no doubt about it!

And he is one of the reasons I took an extra look at this set of plays.
