Uptowndog1 & ChristyClarkeFirst, I wanted to thank Uptowndog for all his insighful info. Without a doubt, the most informative person on this message board. I have no idea where you get all the info and have the time to locate & post it, but I truly appreciate all your efforts.
Secondly, I feel Christy Clarke is 100% on in her intuitive take on mgt. You do need a leader the exudes trust, confidence and knowledge. John is not that person. He is a stock promotor who sees ever glass as half full. But, when the glass keeps coming up half empty, soon everyone begins to question his judgement. John might be a nice old man who really means well. But, we have to expect more from from a CEO. Even though he is the major shareholder, that doesn't qualify him for the top position. There is still a responsibility to all shareholders, no matter how large or how few. We need someone with the acumen, leadership qualities, knowledge and integrity to deal with all the interested parties, whether be govt officials, FN, politicians, environmental firms and whoever else that can get the job done.
For those of you that don't share this view, let me impart some of my experiences. After the court case, I talked to John to get his take on the path needed for approval. It was conveyed to me in no uncertain terms that we had no concerns. Everybody was behind this project, whether it be FN, Fisheries, present govt officials responsible for this area of the Province, etc. In fact, the only people against it were 3 women who had an ax to grind because the were angry about being held accountable for some material goods they had been previously provided by PBM. Did anyone notice the amount of responses (almost all totally unsupportive)? I think even the Environmental agency was taken back by the volume of responses. And, if you don't think that has an impact on whatever final report a bureaucrat draws up, you're either smokin or drinkin too much. Because of this and many other fallacious conversations, I believe nothing from him, no matter how hard he wants to believe it.
