RE:ASKS ARE GONEMarket depth is simply a snapshot of events in the market at a single point in time - what happens during the ensuing nano-seconds remains obscured and is completely imponderable.

The future is never predictable from the present in anything other than the most trivial and brief fashion. Chaos and stochastics take over all too quickly.

No one can predict the market moves form the spread of bid/asks at any point in time - except for those with the power to actually move those markets by providing the bids and asks in the first instance. ...and to predict that you would have to get inside the heads of those planning their moves - and even then they can still be wrong or trumped by others playing a different game.

Grab your crystal ball and stare intently at the swirling mists of unfolding patterns and pretend they have meaning if you must - and play your hand accordingly - but understand that you have no robust mathematical or statistical support for your choices... It is still a gambit or gamble based off (mostly) erroneous prior beliefs. I think Solon's warning comes to mind here...
