RE:Quiet period ending - patents ? My cursory research on provisional patents lead me to the conclusion that they act as a place holder for 12 months, after which they evaporate as if they never existed, and they can not be accessed for viewing by interested parties. They are cheap and quick and a necessary step in the patent process, but they are just a temporary beachhead until the formal patent is applied for.
