I would say its a foregone conclusion that most all of these mining executives and Geo's know each other in one form or fashion. Most are likely personal friends. These guys know what the other companies needs and wants are for the most part. They know strengths and weaknesses and probably read all the competitions balance sheets.

In this current dreadful environment for resources companies I think its going to morph into a environment where its "bird of the same feathers flock together" sort of a thing.

These bigger players like GG and AEM over the next few years are going to be taking each other over right and left. You can bet the planning stages have already been started and these guys are setting the table and crunching the numbers for finding the best fit for massive consolidation.

I hope and it is my desire for thousands of these worthless companies (not GG/AEM) to go bankrupt and reduce the overall sector from thousands to just a couple hundred.

Ironically enough, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see AEM and GG to merge at some point in the future.
