IVANHOE ENERGY'S CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER RESIGNS

Ivanhoe Energy Inc.'s senior vice-president, finance, and chief financial officer, Greg Phaneuf, is leaving Ivanhoe Energy to accept a role with another company. Mr. Phaneuf's resignation is effective Oct. 10, 2014, and he will continue in the role until that date to assist the company with the transition to a new chief financial officer.

"We appreciate Greg's efforts on behalf of Ivanhoe Energy and wish him well as he embarks on his new endeavours," said Carlos A. Cabrera, executive chairman. "We wish to assure all of our stakeholders that the company is working through various funding alternatives to allow the company to execute its business plan."
