Alternate Symbol(s):  ZPTAF | T.SGY.DB.B

Surge Energy Inc. is a Canada-based oil focused exploration and production (E&P) company. The Company's business consists of the exploration, development and production of oil and gas from properties in Western Canada. It holds focused and operated light and medium gravity crude oil properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, characterized by large oil in place crude oil reservoirs with low recovery factors. It offers exposure to two of the five conventional oil growth plays in Canada: the Sparky and SE Saskatchewan. It holds a dominant land position and is drilling a mix of horizontal multi-frac and horizontal multi-lateral wells in the Sparky area. Sparky is a large, well established oil producing fairway in Western Canada. SE Saskatchewan is a focused operated asset base with light oil operating netbacks. SE Saskatchewan operates low-cost wells with short payouts and offers potential for continued area consolidation.

RE:Newstar bidding closed yesterday

RE:Newstar bidding closed yesterdayI believe they are buying something.  Its been quite some time since the latest NR and we are several weeks from the 3rd quarter results so I can't see we'd be in blackout from that.  Stock has been falling and in the past Paul Colborne and others would step up with solid buying if the stock price weakened at all.  It leads me to believe they are in blackout related to an aquisition of some sort.

I know its not a sexy company but I wonder who will snap up Spyglass resources.  Colborne likes to buy value and isn't afraid of a company that's been through the ringer as we witnessed with the Longview aquisition.  Spyglass was actually up today so I think someone is interested.  Of all the days for it to rise I wouldn't pick today.
