RE:RE:Avigilon Brings Adaptive Video Analytics well said, very unfortunate but I guess even if innocent, you are a target so hope they get rid of it sooner than later. From an insider’s point of view, video analytics is and will continue to be a key part of every aspect of surveillance. People go video blind in 20 minutes and wouldn’t notice a pink elephant if it was there so with the vast quantity of cameras coming on line it is virtually impossible to look at 4, 16 100 or 1000 cameras and notice anything. Nuisance alarms caused by deer, tree branches, waves, or a person simply walking by a fence all need to be ignored and this is where GOOD analytics comes into play.. The person who they hired is also very well known in the analytics field so that was a good score for AVO. How much will this useful tool will actually bring to the stock value is another thing. It certainly will not hurt their product offering and makes AVO a nicer target for acquisition by the larger companies. I will be attending the ASIS trade show in Atlanta next week and should be interesting to hear the buzz on the floor and see what competition is offering. I will be reporting on what I see and hear.
