i sit on the board of directors for the local division of an international charity (YMCA). Every time we examine the financial statements and are told that expenses have been paid, finances reviewed and are in good standing, there is a "lighthearted", collective sigh of relief around the table because we know that we are ultimately responsible (and liable) for the financial well being of the charity.
How this board seems to be totally removed from the actions and business of the company is totally mind blowing and inexcusable. What have they been doing all this time?
