oldfx and touareg I don't get it.
What are you guys so upset about?
I thought we were just starting to have some fun.
It seems to me that I am probably 90% in agreement with oldfx on most issues except we disagree regarding whether the USD will continue to have a significant rally.
Isn't that what makes markets?
I was short the Yen against the USD until last week and will look for opportunities to short it again.
Regarding Pento, I had never ever read him before and don't make trading decisions based on his opinions.
He made the point that Japan is following a destructive monetary policy that is inflicting long term damage on Japan's economy.
Don't we all agree that is true?
Don't we all agree that currency debasement by governments to gain trade advantages is reckless and foolhardy policy?
Probably my main disagreement with touareg is whether there is active ongoing manipulation of gold and silver.
Otherwise we are probably 90% in agreement on other issues.
Anyway, I am sorry to see you guys leave the arena as I thought we were having some interesting, engaging discussions and no personal attacks.
I would like you to reconsider and come back.
Regarding lack of participation by folks on this board, I suspect it is because the bear market in the PM sector has left many players demoralized.
Bear markets cycles are emotionally upsetting to most bulls, particularly if they are long term buy and hold investors.
I have a large portfolio of PM miners, but have had it hedged with short positions and so have avoided most of the recent downside losses.
I have now lifted those hedges as I see a near term bottom.
However, if there is more downside action, I will be hedging again.
Good luck!
