Top Alberta Well Results for August
GeoSCOUT Updated its Well Results for Alberta for the Month of
August. We break out the top 15 wells below. Stand-outs include:
August Top Well Results
For oil, Encana took the top spot with its 3-15 Montney well at Pouce
Coupe producing 31.2 mbbls in the month. RMP followed with its 12-36
Montney well at Ante Creek, which produced 31.1 mbbls. Other noteworthy
wells include Manitok’s 10-11 Cardium well at Stolberg (28.7 mbbls),
CIOOC’s 5-36 Montney well at Gold Creek (16.6 mbbls; top IP rate at
1,474 bbls/d), and Kelt’s 14-9 Montney well at Pouce Coupe (16.3 mbbls).
For gas, Bellatrix’ 1-36 Mannville well at Willesden Green took the top
spot, with 510 mmcf produced in August (16.4 mmcf/d). Tourmaline’s 7-
15 well came in second with 402 mmcf produced (14.6 mmcf/d). Overall,
Tourmaline dominated the Top Gas wells, with 6 out of the top 15 wells,
with Bellatrix, ConocoPhillips, Perpetual, Encana, Westbrick, and
Peyto rounding out the list.
Montney/Doig/Charlie Lake
Encana’s 3-15 well (mentioned above) took the top spot, with the company
taking 3 of the top 5 spots. Meanwhile, with 6 of the top 15 spots, RMP’s
Montney wells at Ante Creek continue to dominate the list.
For gas, NuVista, Advantage, Encana, and Trilogy rounded out the list.
Cardium
Manitok’s 10-11 well at Stolberg took the top spot, followed by
Whitecap’s 2-6 well at Ferrier (14.4 mbbls). Other interesting wells that
made the list include Journey’s 13-36 well at Pembina, which produced 8.8
mbbls (325 bbl/d), and Tamarack’s 2-36 well at Wilson Creek, which
produced 8.2 mbbls (519 bbl/d). Bonterra also continues to impress, with 2
of its wells making the top 15, and producing 3 of the top IP rates.
Duvernay
Shell took the first two spots, with its 5-31 Kaybob well producing 12.2
mbbls and its 4-29 well producing 12.0 mbbls. Meanwhile, Paramount’s
16-13 Medicine River well produced 11.8 mbbls in its first month on – a
fairly good data point that looks to compete with some of the best Kaybob
wells. Athabasca’s 8-29 Kaybob well followed right behind, producing
11.7 mbbls
