Tag: Amazonian Autonomous Decentralized Governments, Rafael Correa, resources, will double

Pesident Rafael Correa noted that the Government will double the resources for the Amazon Region by Law 010, provided that all Amazon Mayors sign in favor of responsible mining exploitation.
He qualified as double standard that some municipalities are now requesting more resources, when they oppose to the mining and oil extraction. “If all the Mayors sign in favor of responsible mining exploitation I authorize the project to double,” he said.
Correa said that the Mayors who sign in favor of responsible mining will be given as appropriate, according to Law 010.
He also noted that the Government transferred $ 4,213,000 to Amazonian Autonomous Decentralized Governments (GAD), while $ 5,927 million were granted to all governments until 2006.
