Acid generation of pyrites/host rock Limestone.

Acid generation of pyrites/host rock Limestone.
Both of these I believe to be true but the host rock should help neutralize any acid generation from an environmental perspective(mine) , however am I missing something here , does the acid generation of pyritic fines affect the economics of the production of concentrate?

I'm more interested in the life of mine/grades, and aisc's moving forward.  is this just a short term highgrade boom and bust situation or is future, life of mine, long term prospects worth the investment?
