CUS is really in a pinch here.  Their value is time sensitive.
There are obviously many low-ball offers on the table of which none are attractive.
I think they're better off making a public statement that a buy-out offer has been made and starting a public bidding war.  However, I think there's a reason for this (See below).

Doing so is a management decision, which is why I'm sure it's being fumbled. 
These guys have no vision or strategy.
They just keep chasing the biggest carrot in front of their faces at the moment.

When your shareprice is up solely because it's Friday and people are anticipating a deal through the weekend, it's a sad place to be.

One Monday, short of no other news, CUS will be down 5% if an offer hasn't appeared.


I can almost guarantee what's taking so long for a deal is that there isn't just one buyer at the table.  There are two or more.   And their not competing bids.  They have come to the table together to offer a joint bid.  That complicates things.  Damn lawyers.
