Stem Cells and Brain Cancer

Scientists from Harvard Medical School have discovered a way of turning stem cells into killing machines to fight brain cancer.

An interesting article with no mention of the blood brain barrier or having to cross it to have the stem cells be effective in the brain. What's with that?

Are stem cells able to penetrate the bbb on their own? How would they get into the brain? Did they forget to mention the bbb? Looks like it could be good news for the stem cell guys in any case.
