RE:Heap Leach with cyanide!!!
RE:Heap Leach with cyanide!!!
At last , a technical post with some common sense behind it. Nevada, think hot dry and flat. Banks Island think cool, wet and semi mountainous. And if you want to discuss the possible use of cyanide on Banks Island,in conventional tank leaching, then you clearly have zero understanding of permitting and tree hugger issues on the west coast of BC. And this is why the high grade Jasperoid is a potential problem. It can be mined very easily but it cannot easily be separated and/or stockpiled so that means it goes thru the existing plant and with any luck you get 90% recovery of the gold...... the downside is that now 100% of your concentrate is contaminated with mercury , arsenic etc. ( assuming BC jasperoid is minerologicaly similar to Nevada jasperoid ) so now your smelter penalties for deleterious contaminants really kick in. You might be able to leave it untouched underground but then you have sterilized some serious ore tonnages.
