curiouser and curiouser

curiouser and curiouser Curious that CEC has not adjusted 2009 economic claims despite plunging cost and demand, massive layoffs and closures of BC coal mines, increasing cost of production and transportation, and a disappearing market for coal.  Now, then could not be a worse time for developing a new coal mine.  And now that India just lifted its 42 year ban on foreign coal mines and international mining giants are queing up for licences, Christy Clark's MOU with India to buy BC coal is a fantasy.  What is most curious, however, is why CEC is proceeding with resubmitting its environmental impact study given the likelihood it cannot provide evidence for "adequate" consultation with FN and other stakeholders such as the nearby communities that would be impacted by tailings spills and AMD drainage and the loss of 1000 shellfish aquaculture jobs.
