The plastic jug of milk in your refrigerator is stronger than you think. Rutgers' Thomas Nosker, a professor of materials science and engineering, has developed a way to use the plastic from recycled milk jugs and car bumpers to build bridges. The material is cheaper than using timber or concrete and steel and requires less maintenance.
