That wasn't John Beck - that was all Scott Balfour's fault.
He led Aecon into these low margin, high risk, fixed cost bid contracts.

He was a greedy, incompetent, corporate ladder climber.
He drove Aecon into the ground but personally benefited a lot via a handsome severance package.

John Beck steadied the ship, and turned the company around from its 2010-2011 lows back to over $18.50.

It is sad that no sooner had John Beck retired that the share price started going down again.
