Total demand for Monday is up 6.0 Bcf/d to 94 Bcf/d compared to the six-day average as seasonably colder weather is sweeping across most of the ...US and pushing temperatures well below normal. Power demand increased 1.8 Bcf/d compared to the previous six-day average to 23 Bcf/d, with the Southeast accounting for 0.7 Bcf/d or 40% of the gain. Res/comm demand is up 1.0 Bcf/d as demand in the Midwest jumped by 1.8 Bcf/d and offset the 2.2 Bcf/d drop in the Northeast compared to Sunday’s levels. Demand is expected to approach 100 Bcf/d later this week. Last winter demand reached 104 Bcf/d on Nov. 24, 2013. Production remains relatively flat at 69.6 Bcf/d and is struggling to push above 70 Bcf/d even as production in the Northeast breaks above 18.3 Bcf/d.
