no, the company wouldn't immediately shut down without the ul certification but yes it is a significant milestone. The company will do what it needed to do when the solar tariffs were imposed on it due to selling out of China, take the hit and re-strategize to survive and do their best to move towards profits. These products that may not be able to make the US are not useless, they could be utilized elsewhere. This isn't an either or thing, far from it but yes, having the ul will bring a good deal of value. I think people are being scared by seeing things too narrowly. China in fact is growing in its solar consumption there are places that will continue to grow and those are the places that will likely continue to feed us as we continue to work things through. As ugly as things are now, and they may get worse yet, they will also get better. There is simply too much good tech for this to go down unless somebody does a good job in taking it down! Things are a mess no doubt but there will be a positive resolution one way or another--that I have absolutely no doubts about but it will take a bit of time. glta
