Another big Spike (Caused by Macquarie )Yesterday it was Peters and today it was Macquire who contributed to over 50 cent run up in a day. Macquarie started buying right from the open. He created the gap up in share price & the stock opened at $3.60 & he ran the stock up all the way to $3.89. The price of oil was up & all the oil stocks were trading higher. Some stocks did better than others. LTS was on the top for the second day. It was not the top oil stock in the oil sector but the entire exchange. Huge volume again.
After the run up to $3.89 the oil started to trade lower & so did LTS. Twice LTS traded below the opening price of $3.60. LTS dropped when Macquarie was not buying. But when oil started to move higher LTS started to move higher too but did not seem that it will make back all the way up to the intraday high.
During the last hour of trading Macquarie came back into action again when the stock was at $3.65. He started to take the out offers & the stock retracted all the gain previous gains in a short time & closed above the previous intraday high of $3.89.
It was interesting to see that the stock pulled back all the way to $3.53 & bounced back a bit with the oil rebounded & then led by one buyer it created a new intraday high of $3.90 & closed at the highest trading price of the day. Technically it shows that the stock has lot of strength. It also shows that there are still lots of nervous investors trying to assess this run. There are some who are or where sitting on lot of profit. These included the bottom feeders / bargain hunters & short sellers. The stock was being pull & pushed which created some intraday volatility.
The stock still tracts oil price & just one large buyer and not too many shares are required to run up the stock. This stock has a small float. Too many investors cannot own this stock. The public float is around 190 million which is a tight float.
It is not that simple the conditions were right & the share price has been destroyed. The stock & the sector were very oversold. Some were reposition for the opec meeting plus you have div date next week.
Peters was missing most of the day. He showed up in the afternoon when the stock has pulled back from the first high & cross 230k shares at $3.61 & sold 79900 in the price range of $3.61 to $3.65. His action did not have any bearing on the stock.
RBC sold more shares than they were bought from the accounts of this broker. It seems that he was running a small sell program & there was some buying. There were some retail orders but it seemed that there was a small mechanical order activity too. According to TMX there were zero insider trades for the account of LTS. No buying or selling for LTS today.
