RE:Non-smoking researchAs far as I know there are currently two pills already on the market: Marinol (dronabinol) and Cesamet (nabilone) - depending on where you live and what your ailments are they might or might not work for you. (These are made by Pharmaceutical drug companies since the 80s from what I have read.) Here are some more info, pros & cons about the subject:

For me, vaporizing or edible form is much better than smoking. I have tried the nabilone / Cesamet prescribed by my Dr. and it made me feel absolutely terrible. This was before I recently started vaporizing medical MJ which made me feel much better since I could control the amounts taken. Your experience may be different. Also be aware that different strains of MJ have different quantities of THC and CBD - so you can achieve none, mild or potent effect depending on what meets your medical requirements.
I personally feel pill form only uses a small portion of what the plant contains - and I really hate taking pills if I can avoid them. Vaporize at home, edible on the go, I say.
Disclosure: I am a Bedrocan stock holder as well as a recent Bedrocan Medical MJ user.
