3 LNG-related projects in BC receive environmental approvalsBentek Canadian Observer - The British Columbia government last week issued three Environmental Assessment Certificates to two pipelines and one export terminal related ...to developing LNG within the province. The environmental approvals were awarded to Spectra's Westcoast Connector Gas Transmission pipeline, TransCanada's Prince Rupert Gas Transmission pipeline, and the Pacific Northwest LNG export facility. The two proposed pipelines aim to initiate in the production area of British Columbia near Fort St. John and terminate hundreds of miles away on the coast near Prince Rupert. Both pipelines aim to begin service by the end of the decade and could provide more than 6 Bcf/d of combined capacity. The Pacific Northwest LNG facility, which is primarily owned by Petronas, aims to export up to 2.6 Bcf/d by the end of the decade. 12/1/2014 | 5:40 AM
