Interesting 60 Minutes segment on future cancer therapies
Watched a VERY interesting 60 Minutes segement on cancer treatments and how the FDA needs to change their archaic ways of dealing with various forms of cancers and the timelines it takes to bring drugs to market. Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong mentions the word "immunotherapy" and he also says how large doses of chemotherapy can actually be counterproductive as it allows the cancer cells to escape the hostile environment through the bloodstream and seek a new home in which to grow.
Here is a link to the article/video. Very interesting.
