The fact remains that PE is an employee of MPV which is owned by shareholders, who are in turn represented by the BOD. Clearly substantial % holders have a larger voice on any BOD. PE may be CEO, but he ain't in charge.
In the case of a public company which has a multitude of smaller shareholders and one substantial shareholder who is financially capable of taking the company private, and who has at least as good an insight into the company's financial prospects as anyone on this board, how would that substantial shareholder behave if he or she is a rational profit-seeking capitalist?
Yes, all speculation. I claim no inside knowledge. But to think about.
