Personally I expect the shareprice to improve if the dividend is eliminated - if only because it strenghtens the balance sheet at a time when concerns exist about size of debt, and ability to maintian or grow production.   If those concerns are removed, it is positive for the company, and what is good for the company is good for the share price.

I do not have a good feeling for what happens if the dividend is reduced, and maintained at a lower level.   What I mean by that is I do not feel strongly if an announcement of that type will be positive or negative for the share price.

If the dividend is unchanged it will need to be accompanied by significant capex reduction.    That is unlikely to be good for the company.

All of the above is subject to the announcement of an asset sale.
