Bentek 12/11/2014 | 11:40

Bentek 12/11/2014 | 11:40Southeast/Gulf Observer (Weekly) - Special Feature: Eagle Ford associated gas production sensitivity The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) January contract traded to a low of $60.50/bbl on Wednesday, its lowest price in more than five years. The ...precipitous drop in oil prices over the past few months, which has been driven by dual factors of oversupply and slowing global demand, has called into question the sustainability of US oil production in a weak price environment and could signal a downside risk to associated gas production. The Eagle Ford in Texas is expected to add 1.2 Bcf/d of associated gas production over the next year and nearly 3.6 Bcf/d by 2019. Over the next year, this forecast is already tempered 0.4 Bcf/d lower than projections (which hold drilling activity constant), wherein Bentek has accounted for some declines in drilling activity. How far will oil prices drop and how much could the forecast for associated gas production growth from the Eagle Ford be overstated? See page 2. 12/11/2014 | 11:40 AMSoutheast/Gulf Observer (Weekly)
