ECO Atlantic, the oil and gas exploration company announced yesterday that it has completed a survey on Guy Block, offshore Namibia.
Swapo politician and former minister Helmut Angula and his daughter Phillipine have interests in the company.

The block is located in the Walvis Basin, offshore Namibia. The company said the processing of the the data will start immediately.

Colin Kinley, chief operating officer of Eco Atlantic said the Guy Block is a strategic asset for Eco and its partners, Azinam and Namcor.

“This 1000 km 2D programme has allowed us to further focus our exploration and add to our existing seismic database on this block.

“Our detailed analysis, assisted by the expert staff at Azinam, combined with the results of recent drilling in the region, has given us a new and more focused perspective of where to shoot our 3D survey. Importantly, we received approval to tie this survey into the recently drilled wells of our neighbours, HRT, enabling both HRT and ourselves to better understand the basin.

Kinley said Eco has engaged the same ship and crew that worked with HRT.

“Our confidence in establishing a resource is increasing as we progress the exploration,” Kinley said.

Eco Namibia currently holds three offshore petroleum licence blocks in the Walvis Basin. The company was founded in 2008.
