RE:What a difference 5 years Makes

RE:What a difference 5 years MakesI got out when there were still parachutes to be had. While I am sorry for the shareholders, my concern goes out to the remaining men and women in the trenches, in production, sales or administration - the ones that don't get the big packages. Some I know are rushing to find new employment, before they are told that this is their last Armtec pay cheque - or they're not getting their last pay cheque. They invested years of service, thinking that this was their only career. I was one of them, but there are other jobs with a brighter outlook - I found one of those after Armtec. Some may be able to retire early and make that work. Some may be able to find employment with the new owners of certain facilities. But as I have said, as many others, what a sorry, sad state for a once great company. It rose out of the ashes in the eighties from the Armco fiasco, which in some ways has similarities to this ending - having people getting themselves involved in business that they do not understand, then putting people that understand the business even less - in charge. History does repeat itself, sometimes faster than one thinks.
