In seeking to track the performance of the S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Select Industry Index, the fund employs a sampling strategy. It generally invests substantially all, but at least 80%, of its total assets in the securities comprising the index. RE:RE:RE:RE:Latest financials and almost 1/2 billion shares outstandingI have zero concern about exxon intent to drill but am concerned that it may be later than sooner, they will generate production from low cost proven reserves  they have currently as opposed to undrilled potential. my concern is solely whether xop will run out of money by the time drilling is done and is positive. if the stock goes to zero where does the 17 % go, if theres no money to fund obligations where to from there. they have 12 months of cash from Sept and Ebola has not subsided and may not for some time, once is is cleaned up you just don't start drilling the next day, what happened to staging from somewhere else ? the chance that they reverse split is even more alarming at this point, as the stigma to the market is not positive.
i have seen these types of circumstances before and usually end badly and its the shareholders who are left holding the bag, without definate defensive steps and cost cutting I don't feel good at all. this is why I have been droning on about their hiring, totally nonsensical and flies in rhe face of common sense, Ebola has been their for a year so they have had lots of time to react.
