Dirt Digging
Dirt DiggingAs expected and as soon as there is a positive follow-up of reports with legitimate trade news, here comes the dirt digging tag team: you guys are relentless.
Mr. Silva starts his posting history today with "news" of criminal deeds done in Mexico by M. Gaucher and son - over a deal happened about 6-7 years ago - and Mr. Aurelius follows right up. If the two are not related, please accept my apologies (both of you). But you have to agree that we have seen this happen here several times already.
I have done a quick web search on this story. It is about a hotel / time share complex at Nuevo Vallarta - an upscale resort called Taheima, which M. Gaucher constructed in 2008-2010. Here is what I found:
1. There is a local contractor who says he has been shortchanged by the Gauchers. Instead of pursuing legal claims in Mexico (where he believed he would have had no hope of success) he started a web site (4 years ago) to warn others about the Gauchers. The web site is stale and no new information appears to have been posted after the initial claims.
2. Ther is also a prospective owner who ended up not buying and believes he has been deceived by management's false advertising. Like the previous person, he also decided to put up (three) web sites to publicize the misdeed. Two of the sites are now stale with no new info after 2011 (the other one has been cancelled). On the two sites still up there teh only feedback is the reply of an actual owner who thinks things have been properly represented to him and he is happy with the purchase.
3. A TripAdvisor search turns mixed reviews (from excellent to poor) on the resort. Mostly these are the usual time-share stories (good and bad). On the whole the Vallarta resort seems to have been a legit upscale time-share / hotel operation. It is not clear if M. Gaucher still has an interest in the resort.
4. Overall the search turned out more positive references than negative. I could not find any mention of the "20 units" claim or that M. Gaucher or his son were indicted in Mexico or "fled criminal charges".
Finally: I do not know quite what to make of all this, other that it has absolutely nothing to do with Woulfe Mining.
