For example, if convenants are breached, the first thing lenders will often demand is to halt any dividends and buybacks. Why would a financial institution do this? Well, because it is using for cash flow for non-operation related causes. LTS has negative workings capital - buybacks and dividends in this environment don't make sense. Even if you think the probability of oil price recovery is high, you don't needlessly increase risk in a situation where you may be in breach of covenants.
