If you have many million shares, every cent gets even more valuable. And 2.50 isn't a justifiable price for buyout, given the fact FCU is currently worth 1.99 - 2.49 per share, using 8 or 10 dollar per pound. This does not include gold, future drilling, cash in the bank.
So maybe you should turn your question around. Why would Dev (by the way he's not the only one making this decision) sell out one of the best discoveries in recent history for a meagre price?
