RE:Article in Security Systems NewsA good fluff article to be sure but one I can say from experience is accurate. I can't stand the all is cheery and bright BS like one often sees in retail sales or real estate markets and fluff pieces. If banks released all the homes currently in foreclosure, it would be even worse but they are keeping 25% of the foreclosures off the market in the hope of deluding people into thinking there are fewer homes underwater then there are. The economy over all is on the edge of collapse and is only surviving on borrowed and printed money. But AVO is different, the article does accurately reflect the trend in security and I might add, if the above collapse does occur, the one technology that will be in demand will be in security!. For well over ten years now, I have witnessed nothing but improvements in analytics and how they were, are and will continue to be incorporated into video. Intrusion and card access technology has hardly improved and the false alarm rates from unverifiable alarms is a killer on operations. So the only means to improve guard response, track odd activity, track shoppers while in the aisles for business intelligence purposes, track a person such as a terrorist etc is through video. You need top quality video and analytics to accomplish this. It’s simple. so one should invest in the future and the future in the world of security IS video and analytics. everyone have a great weekend and let’s see some good input here.
