Josef Schachter bullish on LRE
Josef Schachter bullish on LREToday, featured on the Globe & Mail blog, a live interview with Josef Schachter. He mentions LRE a couple of times.
"For this week’s live chat at Inside the Market, we were joined by Josef Schachter, president of Schachter Asset Management Inc., which provides research on small to mid-cap oil and gas companies for Maison Placements Canada’s institutional clients. Prior to this, Mr. Schachter served as Richardson Greenshields’ market strategist from 1991 until 1996. He has over four decades of experience in investment management, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Management Accountant designations."
Two quotes from the interview:
"your top stock picks. Can you tell us the names of the stocks you'll be targeting on weakness, and what you like about those companies?" -Response: "For income investors I like LRE. For growth investors in junior space TVE and DEE. For international upside I like: SEN, TXP, PMI and SLG. Large caps CNQ, ECA, POU."
Also,
"Fortunately those in my Universe like LRE have already made a 50% cut and they see the go forward cash flow through cutbacks on spending and decent hedges as allowing the dividend to be paid. I believe all the dividend model names I mentioned before should be OK."
And,
"I came out with my view on energy prices for 2015 in my last Maison Energy Monthly and after being a bear throughout 2014 and lower than most, I am now more in the bull camp then most. I see prices recovering to over US$70/b in Q3/15 and we may see US$80+ in winter 2015-2016."
Josef often appears on BNN-TV to share his stock picks and outlook for energy prices, and was named Business Edge’s “Stock Picker of the Year” in 2003, 2004, and 2007.
