Amount of debt outstanding

Amount of debt outstandingWhat is exactly the debt position of the firm?

It has a long-term note in USD, which, as of Q3 2014 numbers translated in CAD to CAD959M.

It has CAD575M of available liquidity on a credit facility of CAD1150M. So they are 50% drawn down and owe the consortium CAD575M ($90M more than at the end of Q3, lots of drilling in Q4).

And then there is the working capital deficit, numbers are relatively stable on that front so we can take the Q3 numbers as a starting point. They had a accounts payable exceeding accounts receivable by about CAD100M.

So we have CAD959M (lt note) + CAD575M (credit facility) + CAD100M (working capital deficit).

In total, it corresponds to CAD1634M. Ten times the current market cap!!!

Clearly the markets are not attributing too much value to the equity portion of this firm. Obviously, with a good asset sale of the Bakken or with a rebound in oil prices, it becomes a high payoff, high risk strategy. For all of us here for a long time, it might as well be worth seeing what happens.

As much as I do not like management and will not add a penny at these levels, I do believe in the self-preservation instincts of Wright and co. They will find a way to survive this and if they do, the stock will end up higher than what it is now.

GLTA!
