Is it time for the bashers yet?

Is it time for the bashers yet?"You'll never see your money again" - great post Xscape.  I don't know if you're opportunistic, or naive, but you added some real value to the discussion here :P

There may be some truth to your claim, it's possible, but historically the market crashes, and recovers...and then crashes again...and then recovers again.  It goes on and on and on.  If you're old enough to remember, it happened in the late 90's. It happened in 2009, and for the energy sector, it's happening again right now.

If you have a short-term need for the money, I'm sorry about your loss.  If you have a long-term need, now is when you buy in unless you genuinely believe that "this time" is somehow different from all the others and we are never going to see a recovery.  If that's your take, I'll give you a fair price for your stocks.  These are the times when the rich get richer, and if you can weather the downturn until OPEC or domestic production or Russia/Iran or whatever the real catalyst is changes, you can make money on the way back up.

Very little has actually changed in the world, we are still using hydrocarbons (and will likely use more now that they're cheap...), Mr. Market is just losing his mind right now.  Let's see what everyone's Q4 says soon...

If we want to have meaningful discussions here, we can talk about rig numbers, production numbers from majors, foreign investors/economies, potential take-overs, and when exactly we might see a bottom.  I don't think we'll find the bottom until the end of Q1/Q2 when investors can see the actual damage.
