WTI VS Brent

WTI VS BrentI wish I knew how to post a chart here.  Since I don't know how, here is a some interesting data to browse.  Below is Brent vs WTI and the difference.  Note that Brent has bounced off close to $48 three times and has been fairly flat since Jan 13.  Jan 13 was the lowest close.  Also note that the gap between WTI has Brent has increased from $1.38 on Jan 14 to $4.53 today, Jan 29.

Hopefully this bottoming in Brent will show up in WTI.  What this is saying to me is that world oil supply and demand, EX US, may be in reasonable balance for this time of year.  The problem may be over supply in the US.  Note that inventories in the US have gone up by more than 10 M barrels for each of the last two weeks.  Makes me wonder whether Saudi Arabia isn't stuffing their storage in the US to put more pressure on the US drillers.
