Excellent point. I agree wholeheartedly - as a passive partner in Syncrude, what could possible be the reason for the existence of COS, other than a welfare program for some do-nothing overpaid directors.

The stock obviously is moving based on factors other than oil price so the rumors must be out there. However the offer will not come until the next leg down in oil prices - it is coming. The game is not over for the Saudis and they want to make sure that the marginal NA producer is down for a good long time.
