Goldrock Mines Corp - Friday Trading - Outlook
John and Gordon Leask's Goldrock Mines Corp. (GRM) rose two cents to 28 cents on 370,000 shares. President Paul Matysek has arranged to sell $5-million worth of shares at 50 cents to Oskar Lewnowski's Orion Resources Partners LLC. (Mr. Lewnowski was a founder of Red Kite Explorer Trust, before leaving in late 2012 to start Orion.) Goldrock plans to use the money at its Lindero gold project in Argentina, where the company has had permits to build a $155-million gold mine since 2011. In 2012, the Leask brothers changed the company's name (from Mansfield Minerals Inc.) and hired Mr. Matysek in hopes he could close some big financings. After today, he has brought about $20-million. The $5-million from Orion might sound small, but it could lead to something bigger. The company did $304-million in loan, offtake and royalty deals last year that ranged from $12-million to $200.5-million in size. It did $455-million worth of deals in 2013.
