Among the recommendations from the High Level Security Council meeting that was attended by government officials and United Nations delegates and occurred prior to the industry meetings were:
· A new 15-minute aircraft tracking "standard",
· The "standard" is performance-based and not prescriptive, meaning that global airlines would be able to use any technologies and procedures they deem suitable, and;
· A three-tiered approach for global aircraft tracking covering normal, abnormal and distress conditions.
Industry groups will recommend suitable applications of the recommendations.
FLYHT is confident that any requirements resulting from these recommendations can easily be met by the existing Automated Flight Information Reporting System ("AFIRS™") product family. AFIRS offers airlines additional benefits above the baseline established in the recommendations. The technology enables airline awareness about what is happening onboard aircraft and where they are located at all times. When an abnormal event is detected, not only is an alert sent from the aircraft to interested parties, but the AFIRS unit starts to stream black box data from the aircraft to the ground.
"We are pleased that AFIRS fits the recommendations revealed at the ICAO meetings," stated Bill Tempany, CEO of FLYHT. "The unfortunate industry events during 2014 caused an unprecedented slowing of adoption of new technologies while industry and government groups discussed a response to the tragedies. Our technology is unique in that, in addition to tracking at any time interval, it provides an added level of situational awareness for airlines, triggered data streaming and saves them money. AFIRS is the only safety services certified product able to immediately meet published recommendations. We continue to share our customer success stories and benefits of the technology with the industry to work toward increased adoption."
Lastly, the Company has posted a new video on the corporate
website homepage and an
updated whitepaper and solution brief to explain why FLYHT's revolutionary technology should be adopted by the industry.
