Bentek 2/12/2015 | 5:41 AM comment re well completions

Bentek 2/12/2015 | 5:41 AM comment re well completionsThis is the first time I have seen someone comment that some producers may hold off completing a number of their wells until prices improve. Midcon Observer - Rig count plummets in Williston Basin The falling commodity price environment has had adverse effects on producer activity in the Williston basin. Rig counts have fallen from 171 ...in January to 167 this month. Some producers may hold off on completing a number of their wells until prices rebound. Bentek performed scenario analyses in this month's Midcon Oil and Gas Production Monitor for the Williston basin in North Dakota and found that if 15% of the wells drilled in 2015 are not completed, production growth will slow by roughly 8% through the end of the year and the inventory of backlog wells go grow to 360. If market conditions improve and producers are able to negotiate lower completion costs, these backlog wells could be brought online quickly, resulting in a significant rebound in production growth in 2017. 2/12/2015 | 5:41 AM Midcon Observer (Daily)
